15 Minutes of Reading

Took me 15 minutes and rs. 1500 to create for myself a regular source of joy... a online library membership. I love books but my favorite libraries are too far away, week days leave me tired and weekends are too busy. So here's the solution to get the books delivered to myself!

15 Minutes of Happiness

A simple trick to ending your day well is to make sure that the last person you talk to in a day is someone who is positive and happy, that way when you are going to sleep your last human interaction has been happy and helps you sleep well. And yes it can be done  in 15 minutes.

15 Posts Past

"I have managed to put up a total of 15 posts already and am updating both my other blogs regularly. But it made me realize there is too much of food in all my posts and not enough books, music or movies. Next week I should do more reading and some studying too!"

Getting 15 to 5!

Spending 15 min everyday on blogging led me to a fun idea of a blog which takes me only 5 min to update and is a personal diary cum gratitude diary cum one line journals rolled into one. Everyday I recount what was the best thing to happen to me, which makes for  a blog which is easy to read, fun and something which will be easy to maintain and wonderful to look back on.

The idea of 15 minutes is to get rid of the initial lethargy we face when starting new stuff. I would say that my first week on blogging has been a success, in fact I am onto the idea of a  new blog filled with my favorite quotes, collecting quote sis on of my favorite activities; so I should enjoy this.

15 Simple Truths about Food

Dinner is done and of course it took me more than 15 minutes but breaking it into smaller to time slots helped. :)
Steamed Rice, Yellow Dal and Garlic beans. The garlic beans is my own recipe and I love it. It's a stir fry of  Indian green beans, bell pepper and tomatoes with salt and any seasoning with of course loads of garlic.

15 Minutes of Cooking

"One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.  ~Luciano Pavarotti and William Wright, Pavarotti, My Own Story"

The 15 minute theory is perfect to get me started on some habits I want to develop, the first being my favorite: Cooking! I really want to start eating more meals at home: More nutrition and more savings but sometimes it seems like such a task. So what I will commit to initially is of course 15 mins and a simple Indian meal. Updates on this will come later.

My First Official 15 Minute Project

What can you do to your life in 15 minutes? I believe you can do a lot as most tasks seem daunting because of the enormity of it. 1 hour to cook dinner, 2 hours to clean my cupboard, 4 hours a week for swimming classes, 2 hours a day to clear an exam.. and so we give up. However if we can cut all this up into bite sized pieces it can make things easier to digest and help us make a start.

With this blog I want to test out my theory by assigning myself 15 minute tasks or projects every week. This blog was my first task and I spent just 15 minutes on it and finally did something I have been thinking about for weeks.

Here's leaving you with something I love to collect.. "words"

"The scariest moment is always just before you start."
— Stephen King (On Writing)
